The Lodge Executive Committee
The Lodge Executive Committee (LEC) is the governing body of the Lodge, and is responsible for making decisions too important to be handled by the Lodge Chief and too small to be addressed by the Lodge as a whole.
The members of the LEC include all Committee Chairs, the Secretary/Treasurer, the immediate past Lodge Chief, and is chaired by the Executive Vice Chief. The Lodge Chief also sits on the LEC, but can only vote in the event of a tie.
Any Lodge Member, Youth or Adult, can sit in on meeting of the LEC, and may have an input on dealings if appropriate. Due to the nature of the responsibilities of the Council of Vice Chiefs, it is encouraged for members to sit in on LEC meetings. Non LEC members may be asked to leave the meeting, though, if matters of great importance arise that are not to be discussed with non LEC members.
The Council of Vice Chiefs
The Council of Vice Chiefs (CVC) is an advisory board of experienced Arrowmen over the age of 16, who’s main purpose is to advise and assist Committee Chairs and the Youth Key Three on Lodge operation. There're three Vice Chiefs, Communications, Troop Affairs, and Council Affairs. They serve two year terms, and are appointed by the Lodge Chief.
The CVC is to meet after every LEC meeting to discuss the decisions made by the LEC. If they so desire, the CVC may vote to veto a decision made by the LEC with a unanimous vote. The CVC then must write a brief report on why the CVC vetoed the decision made by LEC, and then report to the Lodge Chief and LEC with the report. The LEC then may choose to vote on the matter again, but this time a 2/3 majority is required to pass.
